Daol is a one-of-a-kind yarn made from 100% Korean paper, designed for projects that require strength and structure. Its 4-ply construction creates a smooth, even surface, while the Z-twist prevents unraveling or splitting during crocheting, ensuring a pleasant crafting experience.
The spinning process takes place in Nakyang’s own facility in Gyeongsan, South Korea, near Daegu, a former textile hub of the country. The dyeing process is carried out by partner companies located in close proximity, all within the Gyeongsan and Daegu area.
Having spinning and dyeing facilities located close together allows for short transport distances between production steps, supporting a more streamlined and locally concentrated manufacturing process.
Thanks to its paper composition, Daol has no elasticity, making it perfect for creating baskets, bags, hats, and other items that need to maintain their shape and resist stretching. However, this lack of elasticity makes it less suitable for wearable garments.
The pictured gauge swatch was hand-washed and steam ironed.
Choose Daol for projects where strength, structure, and a unique material make all the difference.
Exclusively available at Swiss Crochet.
Note – 10.04.2026: For colors that are low in stock or currently out of stock, this yarn is being produced in South Korea, where it is spun and dyed. Due to the current political situation, delivery timelines are uncertain. As shipments are transported by sea, restocking may take approximately 2 months or longer.
The yarn is dyed very consistently, with no noticeable differences between dye lots. You can therefore confidently combine current and future batches if needed.
Thank you for your patience.
